SAT Blacklists (Mexico)

The SAT Blacklists process automatically validates the tax status of a taxpayer (Individual (PF) or Legal entity (PM)) with Mexico's Tax Administration Service (SAT). It checks the validity of the Federal Taxpayer Registry (RFC), its ability to receive electronic invoices, and its presence in the regulatory lists under Articles 69 and 69-B of the Federal Tax Code (CFF).

Detail Flag Behavior

Technical note: The ?detail=true query parameter does not alter the structure of this endpoint. The API returns the full RFC validation status and the blacklist breakdowns from the first call.

Operational Response Scenarios

The process can return three main scenarios depending on the taxpayer's situation:

  • Case A: Valid and Clean RFC (Low Risk): rfcIsvalid is true, foundInBlacklist is false, and the blacklist object is returned empty {}.
  • Case B: Invalid / Unregistered RFC: rfcIsvalid is false, indicating the RFC was not found in the official taxpayer registry.
  • Case C: Blacklist Findings (Art. 69 / 69-B): foundInBlacklist is true and the blacklist object is populated with arrays keyed by the corresponding list (69 or 69b), detailing the legal ground (Cancelados, Condonados, Presuntos, Desvirtuados, etc.), the status description, and the first publication date.
