BGC News

The BGC News process runs an automated scan of digital press, local media, investigative journalism blogs, and open sources to detect news articles or negative mentions that associate the candidate with conduct posing reputational, legal, or financial risk.

Data Architecture (Summary vs Extended)​

The API response follows two structural schemes depending on use of the ?detail query parameter:

  • Summary View (detail=false parameter or default): Returns the itemsEvaluated node. This object contains a curated selection of articles split into arrays by risk affinity (crime and nocrime) along with a unified summary (bgcMessage), reflecting exclusively the evidence on which a Blacktrust analyst based the final verdict.
  • Extended View (detail=true parameter): Additionally injects the itemsFound node. This object exposes the complete raw universe of all matching articles and images located by the web search engines before any human editorial filter.
Direct Automation (Direct Filter without QC)

Rules Flow Behavior: In cases where the request does not go through an expert's analytical quality control process (Quality Check) and the system determines an automated verdict by direct match, the split evaluation structures are unified. The API omits itemsEvaluated and returns only the raw elements found under the general node to optimize response times.
